More Pictures from CCSN
The University of Chicago Center for Cognitive and Social Neuroscience (CCSN) was established in 2004. In September, 2005, CCSN moved into new space in Beecher Hall on the campus of the University of Chicago. Facilities in CCSN include high speed data lines between the Brain Research Imaging Center and CCSN for porting functional manetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data to the CCSN servers; high speed parallel processors atop an 8 terabyte server with gigabit throughput for the analysis of brain imaging data; sound-attenuated, electrically shielded, temperature controlled laboratories for high density electroencephalography and event-related brain potentials, surface electromyography, and autonomic measures; and instrumentation and software for behavioral experimentation and measurements including chronometric, behavioral, and acoustic indices.
Facility Construction
Once the physical facility was constructed, the CCSN workcrew began their work. In the picture below, the CCSN conference table is cluttered by parts for what are now networked computers and printers for fMRI data processing and analysis that sit atop the counter in front of the bay windows below.

The CCSN workcrew: JS Irick, Howard Nusbaum, Paul Merry, John Cacioppo, and David Lozano. Cacioppo and Nusbaum managed to avoid most of the work.
